God Save the Kouign
God Save the Kouign is our Thursday Night Sundae Special for May, available only on Thursday evenings at Kneads and Wants Bakery.
This sundae starts with our kouign amann (“queen uh-MAHN”), the buttery Breton pastry famous for its flaky layers, caramelized sugar crust, and rich croissant-like interior. A kouign amann takes days to make properly, with layers of laminated dough folded with butter and sugar until the outside becomes crisp and deeply caramelized while the inside stays tender and soft.
We top it with two scoops of caramel ice cream, warm salted caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry for a sundae that somehow feels both elegant and wildly over-the-top at the same time.
Available Thursdays in May during Ice Cream Night only, while supplies last. Once Thursday ends, so does the sundae.
